Delete account

How to delete your Groupilla account and the data that goes with it. This applies to the app on iPhone and Android and to groupilla.com in the browser.

In the app or in the browser

Open the menu at the top and tap “Account”.
Tap “Delete account”.
Confirm with “Delete account permanently”.

Your account is gone right away. You don’t need to send an email or give a reason.

By email

If you can’t get into your account anymore, write to hello@groupilla.com, ideally from the address you signed in with, with the subject “Delete account”. We’ll delete the account within one month and let you know once it’s done.

What gets deleted

your email address, your password and your sign-in
the link to all your groups: you leave every one of them. If you’re an admin somewhere, someone else takes over.
who you’ve blocked
the notification identifier for your phone

What stays

What you wrote or added in groups stays there under your name, just like when someone leaves a group. Otherwise, for example, the others’ expenses and polls wouldn’t add up anymore. If you want those entries gone too, tell us which groups it’s about and we’ll delete them.

We keep reported messages so we can look into abuse. The error log isn’t linked to your account and contains no names.

Without an account

If you only took part without an account, there’s nothing to delete apart from your entries. Leave each group under “Profile”. The anonymous identifier only lives on your device and disappears when you delete the app or clear the site data in your browser.
